Highland Hiker is an outdoor retailer serving the Highlands and Cashiers, NC area since 1983. We carry a variety of popular brands of clothing and gear including Patagonia, Tommy Bahama, Barbour, Sage, R.L. Winston, CamelBak, The North Face, Swiss Army, and much, much more.

Each year, our owner, David Wilkes, takes fly fish enthusiasts on a trip to the Patagonia Lodge in Chile.

Western North Carolina is a great place to not only visit but to live. The scenery is beautiful and there are plenty of outdoor activities. Highlands and Cashiers sit on either side of the famous Whiteside Mountain (pictured above). To the west of Highlands lies the Cullasaja Gorge. Here you will find Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Cullasaja Falls, and very narrow roads that must be driven with caution.
