Dry Falls

Dry Falls
*** Currently closed for construction! (read below)
Just 1 mile west Bridal Veil Falls, you will see the entrance to Dry Falls. Dry Falls is located approximately 3.5 miles west of Highlands to the left of Highway 64. There are 2 vehicular entrances, both of which are in low visibility locations and are a steep drop into the parking lot. There is a $2 per vehicle fee you will need to pay once parked.
Dry Falls is a very popular fall because it is not only beautiful but also easy to access. The trail from the parking lot is only a few hundred feet in length; running alongside the Cullasaja River. As you walk down the trail, you may begin to feel the spray and the path will become damp & slippery. Handrails follow alongside the trail to guide you behind, under, and to the other side of the falls.
At the top of the falls, the water free falls about 40 feet to the rocks below where it cascades over the rocks for another 40 feet. When walking "under" the falls, you are about 30 ft below the top of the falls and can generally feel a little spray from the falls.
At this present time, the Dry Falls access & parking is closed to the public while the parking lot is renovated to provide more parking, and a safer entrance/exit. The date of the access reopening is in the future.
